Irie Caribbean is the top Jamaican spot in the Woodbridge area, conveniently located just 4.9 miles from Dumfries. The jerk chicken is a standout, perfectly juicy with a great spice balance. However, I suggest either adding more jerk sauce directly to the chicken or offering it in a ramekin for to-go orders. The cabbage is flavorful but a bit sparse--consider reducing the rice and peas portion to accommodate more cabbage or increasing the cabbage portion itself. The oxtails are tender and well-cooked, though I wasn't a fan of the Ackee and Saltfish, which had a vinegary taste. Despite this, the overall food quality is excellent and the restaurant's presence is vital given the abundance of fast food options. The space has a great atmosphere for music and dancing, and adding a jukebox, extended hours, a bar with Caribbean-themed drinks, and a Happy Hour could elevate the experience further. This restaurant is a gem, and it's important to keep supporting it. The food definitely makes it worth the visit.

The BEST Caribbean food I've ever tasted. I had the Ox Tails and they were very tender and perfectly seasoned. The rice and peas were also delicious. I'm usually not a fan of the rice but this was really tasty and they give a good amount of it. Also it wasn't dry like in most restaurants. My meal was rounded out with cabbage (which I usually don't like) and it was so good! The point is these folk are very good cooks! I've had the same ingredients at other places and they won't taste nearly as great as Irie Caribbean. Well done!

Great flavor with the tiniest bit of heat to the jerk chicken. Stopped here to get a quick bite as I headed home from out of town. There's plenty of free parking and the place was very clean inside. The cashier was very friendly. I got the jerk chicken, which came with rice and beans, cabbage, and a single plantain. That would be my one negative is that there was only one slice of plantain. Other than that, the food was great. Tender. Flavorful. Adequate amount.

This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch when I'm in the mood for Jamaican or just because my wallet needs a break and I need a hearty meal. Lunch is $7.99 and you get a choice of Curry, Brown Stew or Jerk Chicken which comes with rice and peas, cabbage and plantain. Since I'm watching my carbs I usually ask for no rice and they accommodate me. Curry chicken was my go to until someone recommended that I try the Brown Stew Chicken and I love it. I wanted something sweet so I tried the crust-less Gizzarda that is made with chunks of coconut and ginger and almost reminds me of peanut brittle except its not hard. The ginger was a pleasant surprise. They also have ox tails that are pretty good and meaty.

When you're craving Jamaican food, this is the place to go in the Woodbridge area. It's on the corner of a stripmall. It's not the place you go for date night, but it is the place you go to if you want some good food. Most people just do takeout. The customer service is hit or miss, but I have never had a problem with my order. Simply put, their customer service motto is not necessarily "service with a smile". :) The food is why you go though. Consistent! I've never gotten a bad dish here. Try it for yourselves. The ackee and saltfish is my favorite, but they only used to serve it on weekends. Not sure if it's changed now.

Nice find! Plenty of parking. They always advertise lunch specials. Very nice professional staff. This place is very clean and spacious. Lots of classic dishes to choose from, and friendly service. I ended up getting the jerk chicken lunch special ($7.99). Great deal! nice size portion. Served with cabbage, rice & peas, plantains. I must say it was very tasty and full of lovely traditional Jamaican flavour. I will definitively visit here again. I would like to experience the other traditional Jamaican items on the menu. Give them a try. You'll be happy you did!!

When you find good Caribbean food, you hold on tight and never let go. 1. Curry Chicken Roti was fantastic. The curry chicken was seasoned perfectly... Probably the best I've had. The roti has like a crumbly chick pea type of situation, wish is kind of strange.... But I kind of just ignored it as best as I could. 2. Jerk chicken was well seasoned! 3. Beef patties were on point. I was disappointed they didn't have any more curry chicken patties. 4. Coco bread was like regular white bread. I've only had actually good Coco bread from only a couple of restaurants. Like actually warm and tasting like coconut, which is what Coco bread should taste like. When restaurants serve like regular white bread, I have questions. Portion sizes were phenomenal!
